Manufacturing Technology
This program is a one-year program, with an optional advanced learning - second year, that focuses on how products are manufactured. Students learn the skills and industrial principles of how the machines are used to mass produce the products that we use in our daily lives. Areas of focus include Design for Excellence, Parametric 3D modeling, 3D printing, Manufacturing, Automation, and CNC Machining Technology. Students will participate in a mix of lesson-based instruction and hands-on activities. Students will learn a variety of machining techniques, industrial aspects, and will be encouraged to expand their manufacturing interests for more in-depth learning opportunities. Students learn precision measurement, print reading, milling operations using mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders and CNC Haas Milling machines. The automation area focuses on electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plastics and robotic systems. Students learn to become problem solvers, excellent team members and leaders in this career field that are highly sought after by employers. Many graduates may help fill our community’s workforce needs or continue their career path in a post-secondary educational opportunity, such as college or apprenticeships.
