Information Technology

This one or two-year course focuses on the evolving and pervasive technological environment with an emphasis on securing personal, organizational, and national information. Explores the broad topic of cybersecurity in a way that matters to you. Learn how to protect your personal data and privacy online and in social media, and why more and more IT jobs require cybersecurity awareness and understanding. Students will investigate the high-skills, high-wage, and in demand career opportunities in the vast field of cybersecurity. Students will have the opportunity to earn Industry certifications from companies like CompTIA, Cisco, EC-Council, Microsoft, and others. Learn the principles, explore emerging technologies, and examine threats and protective measures that are Cybersecurity. Additionally, Cybersecurity students have the opportunity to earn college-credit at little to no cost. Students can earn up to 12 credits by dual-enrolling with Ferris State University (FSU). Students who enroll in the Mecosta-Osceola CTE Early Middle College program can earn their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Information Security and Intelligence from FSU. For ALL Early/Middle College & Dual Enrollment information, please contact the MOCC office at 231-796-5805.  Cybersecurity & Information Technology (CsIT) CsIT students may earn college credit at little to no cost by dual-enrolling with Mid-Michigan Community College or participating in an Early Middle College program and partnership with Mid Michigan Community College and Ferris State University. Students can earn up to 24 dual-enrollment credits and up to 44 Early/Middle College credits. Ferris State University (FSU) Care Courses MOCC students may earn college-credit at little to no cost by dual-enrolling with FSU. Courses include CARE 102, 201, 202 and 203 and University 101. Students may earn up to 8 college credits.
