Articulated Credit

What is articulated college credit?

Mecosta-Osceola Career Center (MOCC) is dedicated to collaborating with external partners to create meaningful academic experiences for students. Articulated credit is a type of college credit granted through an agreement between MOCC and specific colleges or universities. To qualify, students must successfully complete their MOCC program, and demonstrate mastery of the required skills for the equivalent college course. Credit is posted to a college transcript after the student has completed a certain number of classes at the college or university. Credit generally does not transfer from one college to another.

Early-Middle College

What is Early-Middle College?

The Mecosta-Osceola Career Center (MOCC) Early-Middle College (EMC) program is a tuition-free, 3-year early college program serving students who are registered full-time in public school districts participating with MOCC.

Students extend high school by one year and follow a specific integrated sequence of high school and college courses, Program of Study, during grades 11-13 while attending MOCC and the college or university. There is no out-of-pocket cost to students and their families for tuition, books, and fees during the 3-year program. Students can earn up to an Associate Degree or Certificate in the outlined pathways.

How Do I Apply?

Students apply to the EMC program in the fall of the junior year after enrolling in MOCC through their local high school.
Students must meet with their local high school counselor to submit application materials.

Who Can Apply?

Students must meet their public school’s criteria for dual enrollment eligibility.
Students must be registered full time in a public high school participating with MOCC.
Students must have permission from their public high school to enroll in the EMC program.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no out of pocket cost to students and their families for tuition, books, or fees during the 3-year program.
Students who have not completed their Associate Degree/Certificate at the end of the 13th year can continue on at their own cost.
The EMC does not pay for coursework that must be repeated for any reason.

Where Are the Classes?

During the junior and senior year, students spend half the day at their local public high school and half the day at MOCC.
During the 13th year, students attend classes on the college campus. Students are responsible for transportation to the college campus in the 13th year.
